ADDRESSING FERTILIZER-INDUCED PAINT FAILURE
INDUROPRO PROTECTS A CASE IH 4450 BOOM SPRAYER
Case IH approached InduroPro directly after experiencing paint failure concerns on a customer’s Case IH 4450 boom sprayer operating in Scott City, Kansas. The 135-foot boom arms were repeatedly exposed to corrosive fertilizer, accelerating coating breakdown and raising warranty issues.
To help stabilize and protect the existing finish, the InduroPro team cleaned and prepared the boom arms—without repainting—and applied two 17 oz kits across the full boom structure and all four wheels. Two months later, the boom arms remain protected, with no additional paint failure observed and no visible corrosion on rims or wheel hardware.
WHEN FERTILIZER BECOMES THE PROBLEM
CASE IH SEEKS LONGTERM PROTECTION WITH INDUROPRO
Case IH wanted to prevent a newer 4450’s boom arms from paint failure, when compared to a second similar machine on-site.

Fertilizer exposure is one of the most aggressive chemical challenges agricultural sprayers face, especially along extended boom arms. Case IH reached out to InduroPro to protect a newer machine. The boom arms on the newer machine were cleaned so InduroPro could seal and protect the existing finish before paint deterioration could occur.
135 FT OF TARGETED PROTECTION
TWO 17 OZ KITS ACROSS BOOM ARMS AND WHEEL

The InduroPro team applied two 17 oz kits to coat the full 135-foot boom structure and all four wheels. The ceramicized epoxy coating bonded to the prepared painted surfaces, forming a durable barrier designed to resist chemical exposure and moisture intrusion. By protecting both structural components and wheel assemblies, the sprayer gained increased resistance to corrosion while improving ease of maintenance between field applications.
THREE MONTHS IN ACTIVE USE
NO ADDITIONAL PAINT FAILURE OBSERVED WITH INDUROPRO
After two months of continued fertilizer application in real field conditions, the treated boom arms remain intact with no additional paint breakdown. The InduroPro coating continues to shield exposed surfaces from corrosion and chemical attack.
The wheels, rims, and wheel nuts show no visible rust, and operators report easier cleanup after use. While long-term monitoring continues, early performance confirms that InduroPro provides a chemical-resistant, semi-permanent protective barrier suitable for agricultural equipment operating in highly corrosive environments.
